sheer black cloth
gently creeping above
highways and forest trails
brown and gold masks
dampening the short
smattering and
clacking of frozen feet
bending
breaking
in the velvet white sheet
so easily disturbed
beneath us
the ignorance
stupidity
wrapped around winter
comes sneaking upon us
I follow like a blind mule
down crooked cobblestones
waiting
patiently
our legs creak
